My parents were resistant at first, but after a day it appeared clear that they had fallen in love with her. How couldn't they? Look how cute she is! She spent four hours today batting (and thereby destroying) a plant in the living room. After that, she was too tired, and needed a nap. She climbs on everything: the dining room table (she almost stole the roast beef tonight), the couch, the bed, the chairs, my dad's head. She's a little terror/comedianne. She's also a very smart little cat.

Intermission
I know I haven't finished all of my Europe posts yet. I know it's been over a month since I've gotten back. I swear I will, but here's what been going on this week: law school orientation. Yes, it's only been two days, but I'm fricken tired already. I sort of had some classes today, but they begin in earnest on Monday. Nonetheless, I've already had home due, plus more for the first day of class.
It was my last free Friday evening for....for I don't know how long (classes are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday). Happy hour on Friday? This was my last chance. So I went to dinner at Pok Pok, a Thai restaurant in SE. It was delicious, and although I felt like I really ought to make the most of my last Friday evening, I'm too damn tired, and decided to go home after dinner. I might try to get a head start on my homework, but I might need a nap first.
All of my professors have said that we are all now a part of the legal profession. It sounds so serious...and so cool. No one ever said anything like that in graduate school.
I guess if I budget my time well, I'll be able to have fun on Wednesdays, or on the weekend. But I have to say, serving justice takes a lot out of you!

Barcelona: Day 1--No Vertigo Allowed
I was a little worried when we arrive at the suburban airport about an hour away from Barcelona: it's pouring rain! Totally unexpected! Fortunately, when we finally arrive in Barcelona proper, it's dry. That's a relief.
It's late; the flat owner Maite greets us, and is very friendly and helpful. We hit a grocery store nearby that she tells us about, eat a quick snack (no dinner earlier) and go to bed.
The next morning, we throw open the door to the balcony (she has us stay in her living room due to a scheduling mistake--all the bedrooms are full) and the following street scene greets us (photos above and below).
Unfortunately, I don't remember all of their names, but there was Colin, from Victoria B.C. who was there with another guy (also Canadian? Not sure.) to skateboard. Apparently, Barcelona is a big skateboarding city. There was a woman from San Francisco, originally from Mexico, and another guy from the O.C. (yup, like the tv show). There might have been one other person, but I'm not sure, and if so, never really saw him.
See the tall bullet-shaped building? The entire time we were in Barcelona, Bruno referred to it as The Tampon. Me, being an English major, thought it looked like something else, but henceforth, we shall continue to refer to it as The Tampon.
