Granada: the Alhambra by Night
Our first night in Granada, we semi-accidentally found the Alhambra. We quickly realized that the area our hotel was located in was overrun with tourists, and crappy restaurants catering to tourists (there was an unfortunate gummy paella incident), so we needed to high-tail it outta there. Map in hand, we hit the street, heading in the general direction of the Albaicín neighborhood and the Alhambra, but not really believing that we would reach it that night, because it looked pretty far on the map.
But it wasn't far at all! We got there surprisingly fast, and discovered that a bunch of the pensiones in the Rick Steves book (as opposed to hotels) were all located near the Albaicín, and they all looked so cute and cozy. But oh well. Our hotel was nice too. So anyway, the photo above was on the street leading up to the Alhambra, as is the one below.
See? I told you that statue would look even wronger by night.
Sorry it's blurry, but that's the entry to the Alhambra.
As mentioned before, the cats now own the Alhambra. The cats were actually always in charge, but just used the humans as puppet rulers.
Here's the main event: the Alhambra by night. Isn't it beautiful? This was my first, and I think, best experience viewing it. It looked so magical at night.
The city of Granada by night is equally beautiful.
I had such a good time that night!
